SUWASA PARTICIPATED IN THE CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL WORKERS' DAY SINGIDA

Employees of Singida Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) participated in the International Workers' Day celebrations held in Singida Region, on May 1, 2025 at Bombadia grounds.
The Guest of Honour at the celebration was Hon. President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who was accompanied by various Government leaders.
Speaking at the celebration, she said that due to the increase in national income, the Government has increased the minimum wage for Government employees by 35.1 percent, which will officially begin to be implemented in July 2025.
In line with that, she said that all the challenges presented by the Confederation of Workers Unions (TUCTA) will not be ignored or reduce the political will to address them, the government will continue with improvements.
Furthermore, regarding the workers' request for tax exemption on various allowances, she said the government is assessing how to handle it.
The Hon. President has congratulated the regional governor for her good work, warm welcome and hospitality, as well as the staff for their good performance which led the Government to increase its revenue by 5 percent.
Congratulations also went to TUCTA for the good work they are doing in resolving workers' challenges, and asked the workers to come forward to elect the best leaders in the 2025 General Election.
Watumishi wa mamlaka ya majisafi na Usafi wa Mazingira Singida (SUWASA) wameshiriki maadhimisho ya siku ya Wafanyakazi Duniani yaliyofanyika Kitaifa Mkoani Singida, tarehe 1 Mei 2025 katika viwanja vya bombadia. Mgeni Rasmi katika maadhimisho hayo alikuwa Mhe. Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Dkt. Samia Suluhu Hassan ambaye aliambatana na viongozi mbalimbali wa Serikali. Akizungumza katika Maadhimisho hayo amesema kutokana na kuongezeka kwa pato la taifa, Serikali imepandisha kima cha chini cha mshahara kwa wafanyakazi wa Serikali kwa asilimia 35.1, ambayo itaanza rasmi kutekelezwa mwezi Julai 2025 Sambamba na hilo amesema changamoto zote zilizowasilishwa na Shirikisho la vyama vya wafanyakazi (TUCTA) hazitapuuzwa wala kupunguza utashi wa kisiasa kuyashughulikia, serikali itaendelea na maboresho Aidha katika ombi la wafanyakazi la kuondolewa kwa kodi katika posho mbalimbali amesema serikali inafanya tathmini ya namna ya kulishughulikia. Mhe. Rais amempongeza mkuu wa mkoa kwa kazi nzuri, Mapokezi mazuri na ukarimu halikadhalika wafanyakazi kwa utendaji nzuri uliosababisha Serikali kuongeza mapato kwa asilimia 5. Pongezi pia zimeenda kwa TUCTA kwa namna wanavyofanya kazi nzuri katika kutatua changamoto za wafanyakazi, Na kuwasihi wafanyakazi kujitokea kuchagua viongozi bora Uchaguzi Mkuu 2025.
